Visit Locations other Tours do not including Gibraltar's famous Mediterranean Steps
My name is Stephen I am originally from the UK but now I am fortunate enough to be able to call Gibraltar my home. I have been fascinated by Gibraltar's history ever since my first visit in the early 1990's. I especially love walking around the Upper Rock and I hope to get the chance to meet you and show you a few of the attractions that Gibraltar has to offer.
The attractions visited include
Devil’s Gap Battery
The Genoese Battery
The Apes Den
The Windsor Bridge
Rooke’s Battery
The Queens Lookout
St Michaels Cave
Jews Gate
The Pillars of Hercules
The Mediterranean Steps
O’Hara’s Battery (The Highest Point)
The Sky Walkway
The Top of the Charles V Steps
The Cable Car Top Station
The Great Siege Tunnels (**See Details**)
The Viewing Platform on Willis Road
The Tour will end in the Centre of the Town
The duration of this Tour will be in the region of 3 hours and we proceed at a leisurely pace which is set by the participants as we walk up the Rock.
There will be numerous photo opportunities along the route. You will get the chance to see some stunning views and many of the historical military sites that are found in the Upper Rock.
I can take you to places that you would not usually visit if you go up by taxi or mini bus and I guarantee that you will always see some of Gibraltar’s world famous Monkeys.
The paths along the Upper Rock can be a little uneven therefore we recommend you wear suitable shoes and that you also bring along a bottle of water, because it can get quite hot in the summer months.
A Face Mask is currently required to enter St Michaels Cave and the Great Siege Tunnels so please remember to bring one.
The current price to enter the Nature Reserve and all the attractions is £13.00 and you can pay in Euro’s if you prefer.
** Please note that we do not always enter the Great Siege Tunnels, however if you would like to do so then please message me so this can be arranged. You will need to allow roughly an extra hour to visit them **.
The meeting point will be Library Ramp which is across from the front entrance to the Eliott Hotel in the City centre. I will be at the bottom of Library Ramp, under the Library Ramp Street Sign, and wearing a Gibraltar Official Licenced Guide Badge.
Please Note the Tour unavailable between the 5th of December and the 27th of December.
I highly recommend booking the Upper Rock Walking Tour with Stephen because he was an incredible guide. Thank you Stephen.
The highlights of our tour was the whole experience. Our guide Stephen was very prompt on arrival, he is very warm and welcoming with a lot of patience. Throughout the whole tour Stephen gave us the time to go at our own pace even though we had others in our group , they were also very patient and calm throughout the most challenging situations like the mediterranean steps which we successfully completed. Stephen was very knowledgeable and shares so much historical information about the rock, we managed to see all the sights included in the nature reserve trail and more with thanks to Stephen.
Highly recommend tour of the Upper Rock
Stephen was a really knowledgable and friendly guide. We walked all over the reserve and he had so much to tell us about the history of the Rock. He answered all our questions and took his time to make sure we had a wonderful afternoon. The views were amazing and we saw plenty of apes. The time flew by and we had a fantastic time. Thanks Stephen.
Wonderful walk, worth every step
We cannot recommend Stephen more highly, he was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and very interesting to talk to. He offered us an extra time as the day before was full and so we had the benefit of a private tour.
The walk up to the top of the rock wasn’t easy but was worth every step. Breathtaking views and insights into the history of Gib, plus macaques galore. If you want to get away from the crowds at the cable car or on taxi tours this is the route to take.
Many thanks Stephen for a great afternoon
A must-do when in Gibraltar
Stephen was an amazing guide. He took his time with us, didn't rush the tour and answered multiple questions about the history, economy and political situation of Gibraltar. He promised us to see the apes and so we did! It was a truly enjoyable, though definitely physically demanding Rock Walking Tour - we wholeheartedly recommend to anyone visiting Gibraltar!
Beautiful Gibraltar
I would highly recommend this tour if you want to see the most of this beautiful little country and get a great workout along with it. It was very tiring at times but was such a great way to see the upper rock. The guide was great and knew a lot and was very patient with the pace we could go at. The monkeys were definitely the highlight for us and could have watched them all day!
Top of the world!
Organised a walking tour of the rock with Stephen as our brilliant guide who took us up and around the Mediterranean steps. Stopping at all the points of interest and historical sites as well as panaromic views of Gibraltar, Spain and North Africa.
It was truly a spectacular day and tour and a treasured memory for sure. I highly recommend Stephen as a tour guide with his knowledge and expertise as well as being a down right great chap!
If the day or the time of the Standard Tour is not convenient then please let me know and I will do my best to arrange something more suitable for you.
I can customise the length and the route of the Tour to suit your requirements and we can also arrange a Tour that starts at the Top and walks down the Rock.
