If the day or the time of the Standard Tour is not convenient please let me know and I will do my best to arrange something more suitable for you. I can arrange a Private Tour for you that fits in with your Cruise Liners schedule, and I can also customise the length and the route of the Tour to suit your requirements.

The Upper Rock Walking Tour is a great way to visit Gibraltar's Nature Reserve. The number of participants on this Tour are intentionally kept to a minimum, so there will usually be just one or two other small groups with you. This is to ensure that you get a more personal experience, and you will get to see much more than you would have seen, had you taken a Mini Bus or the Cable Car.
My name is Stephen I am originally from the UK but now I am fortunate enough to be able to call Gibraltar my home. I have been fascinated by Gibraltar's history ever since my first visit in the early 1990's. I especially love walking around the Upper Rock and I hope to get the chance to meet you and show you a few of the attractions that Gibraltar has to offer.

The duration of the Tour is in the region of 3 - 4 hours and we proceed at a leisurely pace set by the participants as we walk up the Rock.
There will be numerous photo opportunities along the route. You will get the chance to see some stunning views and many of the historical military sites that are found in the Upper Rock.
I can take you to places that you would not usually visit if you go up by taxi or mini bus and I guarantee that you will always see some of Gibraltar’s world famous Monkeys.
The paths along the Upper Rock can be a little uneven therefore we recommend you wear suitable shoes and that you also bring along a bottle of water, because it can get quite hot in the summer months.
The current price to enter the Nature Reserve and all the attractions is £30.00 and they now insist on a Card / Contactless payment.
We do not always enter the Great Siege Tunnels or the WW2 Tunnels, however if you would like to please message me so this can be arranged. You will need to allow extra time to visit them.

Our family absolutely loved our rock of gibralter walking tour with Steve. He was very tuned into our needs and interests and has so much knowledge of the area and its history. I was afraid of he significant climbs but he allowed us to go at the pace that worked for us while telling stories and details along the way and during stops. We did not know all of the experiences and history that this destination had to offer from the monkeys to the WWII tunnels museum, stunning cave with light show, cannons, views for miles as well as flora and fauna to name a few. We highly recommend this tour and Steve as your guide.

For the second time we had a fantastic walk with Stephen on the Gibraltar rock. The Upper Rock Walking Tour fully confirmed what is promised on the website. And even more. In more than four hours he took us to all the places worthwile, including the monkeys, and to some where hardly a tourist comes. Stephen is well informed, both on the history of the rock and on the sitation in the world (full of troubles and worries these days). And moreover: He is interested in his guests. The tour is tiring, but very, very worthwile. A wonderful experience with unparalleled views.

Found this tour via visitgibraltar.com. Stephen was very communicative via Whatsapp. Answered all the questions I had prior to the trip. (Thanks!)
I’m deaf so Stephen and I used our phone to chat for the entirety of the tour and it was just as lovely! He had plenty of information to share and showed me what I believe is all you can see on the rock. I was the only visitor so we moved things quickly and had time to visit both tunnels. Very pleasant experience; nothing that needs to be improved, really.

Right from my very first communication with Stephen, he was prompt, professional and informative. We opted for a private tour of the Upper Rock - just my husband and myself - as our cruise ship was in port on a day that Stephen does not have scheduled group tours. We had a fantastic day! Stephen has a wealth of information to share about the history of Gibraltar. We found it fascinating and the hike was so much nicer than just taking a taxi to the top (in our humble opinion). Stephen took us to areas that our friends did not get to see on their excursions from the ship. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a great day in Gibraltar. We have taken many excursions and tours and this was right up there with our favourites because Stephen makes it so personal and goes at your pace. If this sounds like the tour you would like to do, book it with Stephen - Walking Gibraltar - as you will not be disappointed.

We were recently at Gibraltar for a few days and decided to take the walking tour, as opposed to a van ride to the top. The tour itself was somewhat of a workout, and lasted about 4.5 hrs start to finish. Stephen our guide was very personable, and was knowledgeable of the history of the Rock, as well as the the general area. He tried to tailor the walk to the wishes of the group, keeping in mind our varying stamina levels. The views were really great. One of the highlights was our close interaction with the Barbary Monkeys on the top. They were around us for about 30-45 minutes total, and were not shy at all. All in all a very informative afternoon. I recommend this for a up close & personal experience. But keep in mind the walk, while very doable, is exerting.

Stephen was excellent, just as the other reviews which led us to book him, had suggested. He gave endlessly of his time, energy and knowledge, at just the right pace and timing. We recommend him highly and wish him well. A truly outstanding guide.
